Overview
The department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is responsible for teaching and carrying out research. Besides providing services in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery which include:
- Teeth extraction
- Minor surgery (removal of impacted teeth, pre-prosthetic surgery, and oral pathological lesions)
- Major surgery (trauma, cyst, reconstructive surgery) and dental implant.
The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery combines 2 dental clinics. The academic activities include teaching dental students, internship training, a post-graduate training for Master’s and Ph.D. candidates, and clinical research activities.
Goals
The department is targeting to:
- Develop modern knowledge specifically in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, to empower and make suitable clinical decisions, in the treatment and management of Oral and Maxillofacial lesions.
- Obtain advanced skills in patient care investigation techniques and surgical skills on a high level of proficiency for safe Oral and Maxillofacial surgical practice.
- Be able from participating in a multidisciplinary team for patient care.
- Develop and embrace high quality in clinical decision-making, with contemporary evidence-based knowledge and skills
- Able to connect efficiently, in addition, to applying the highest level of ethics and professionalism.
- Able to endorse as an advocate for the health and endure to be a lifelong learner.
