In 1996, the Supreme Council of Universities issued the approval of the Faculty of Dentistry construction upon the Suez Canal University Council's recommendation. It is the first faculty of dentistry in the east of Egypt. The faculty's first batch was in 1996–1997 and is welcomed on the old campus of Suez Canal University in Ismailia.
The Faculty of Dentistry – SCU cooperates with the Egyptian dental faculties to exchange knowledge and experience to improve oral dental education. The faculty is committed to applying quality control measures across all academic and service sectors. Moreover, the Faculty of Dentistry is committed to setting high criteria regarding the education of dentistry and to acting as a role national - model in creativity and continuous improvement in Dentistry education.
Our program's primary goal is to introduce qualified practitioners in the Dentistry domain. The Dentist is the one in charge who provides essential health care. The Dentist got the ability to practice the Dentistry generally and cooperatively. Moreover, the Dentist must think critically and solve problems according profession's ethics next to effective cooperation and communication skills. Practitioners Dentists should have the ability to evaluate and use new techniques and profession continuous improving chances to deal effectively with current and future problems in the societal oral healthcare sector.
The Suez Canal University grants the bachelor's degree in the Dental Surgery according to the Faculty of Dentistry Medicine request. The degree is granted after students' success pass in all requirements.
The Faculty of Dentistry Medicine – Suez Canal University has two regulations:
- General regulation
- Credit hours regulation
Terms of Acceptance:
- Students must have obtained a higher school certificate (12th grade) or an equivalent certificate.
- The student must be a fresh graduate from a higher school (graduated in the same year as the faculty's admission).
- The coordination office must have nominated the student to join the Faculty of Dentistry.
- Students must have a clean record and not be sent down from the Suez Canal University or another university.
Graduation requirements
- Passing all courses mentioned in the educational plan.
