Overview
The department of Oral Medicine, Periodontology, and Diagnosis are one of the practical departments in the faculty that provides the diagnosis and treatment of oral and gingival diseases and surgeries. The department offers programs for undergraduate students, master's degrees, and Ph.D.
Oral diagnosis is taught to students in the fourth year whereas oral medicine and periodontology are for fifth-year students. As for graduate studies, oral diagnosis, oral medicine, and periodontology are taught to master's students but for doctoral students’ oral diagnosis, oral medicine Periodontology, and immunology are taught.
Goals
- Introducing students to different methods of oral tissues and teeth examination.
- Enabling students from diagnosing and treating oral diseases, in addition to the ethics on how to deal with patients, chronic diseases, and tooth pathological pain.
- Giving the students basic concepts of gingival diseases, their diagnosis, and how to use non-surgical methods or surgery treatment.
