Overview
Endodontic is a dental specialty that deals with, tooth pulp and tissues surrounding the tooth root. The pulp contains nerves, arterioles, venules, and lymphatic and fibrous tissues, which may get infected or injured and could not be self-repaired. The pulp may be inflamed or died, in this case, the tooth requires a root canal treatment.
Department’s courses are divided into 2 parts. The first part is Endodontic 1 (preclinical), this course enables the student from learning and practice, root canal treatment technical steps, inside the Endodontic laboratory. Moreover, the student will be introduced to pulp histology, physiology, and pathology.
The second part is Endodontic 2(clinical, which targets to allow the student to practice the performance of root canal treatment technical steps, inside the Endodontic laboratory. In addition, the student will learn different diagnostic skills and clinical-related topics.
Our department offers various services to patients, which are:
- Diagnosis of specific and non-specific pain
- Vital pulp therapy
- Internal bleaching
- Root canal therapy
- Non-surgical endodontic retreatment
- Apical surgery
- Surgical endodontic retreatment
- Intentional replant (intentional removal and re-implantation following, endodontic manipulation)
- Auto-transplant (removal of a donor's tooth to another place in the mouth)
