Overview
The department of Fixed Prosthodontic offers theoretical and practical and research education for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. The department teaches the students different topics related to fixed prosthodontics. The department emphasizes imparting comprehensive skills to undergraduate and postgraduate students. Moreover dealing with the restoration of missing teeth to restore function and esthetics.
The department combines separate undergraduate, postgraduate, clinical, and laboratory sections. The department is fully equipped to deal with basic as well as advanced treatment modalities in fixed prosthodontics including a CAD/CAM digital lab.
Goals:
- To teach students the effects of tooth loss on the oral environment.
- To allow students to diagnose, plan and perform treatment for cases, requiring crown and bridge therapy.
- To review dental material science relevant to crowns & bridges.
- To teach postgraduate students all phases of crown & bridges, including esthetic dentistry, implant prosthodontics, and functional occlusion concepts.
