According to the Faculty of Dentistry recommendation, Suez Canal University grants the students who passed this program successfully, a Bachelor's degree in Dentistry (credit hours system).

Admission terms and requirements:

  • This program accepts Egyptian and international students who have successfully passed their secondary school education.
  • The applicant must be a holder of a secondary school certificate from an Egyptian school or its equivalent.
  • The applicant must pass the assessment exams.
  • The applicant must pass the medical examination.
  • Dentistry students who are already enrolled in the semester system at the Faculty can transfer to the credit hours system after taking the equivalency credit hours assigned by the system which are six semesters out of the enforced 10 (summer semester does not count).
  • The credit hours student cannot transfer to or back to the semester system under any circumstances.
  • All students must comply with the prevention and infection control policy by presenting the following documents: Medical Examination Report Vaccination against Hepatitis Virus B Vaccination against Tuberculosis, Hepatitis Virus C test results, and HIV/AIDS test results.
  • Student's subscription to the health insurance program.
  • The applicant must present the previous documents and fill in the required forms.

Education system

  • The education system for this program is regulatory not affiliation.
  • The study language for all courses is the English language, except for the elective courses and university requirements.
  • The program is divided into 3 parts:
  1. Preclinical: includes 1st, 2nd, and 3rd levels
  2. 1st clinical: includes 4th level
  3. 2nd clinical: includes 5th level
  • The student is not allowed to shift to the next without passing the previous level successfully.
  • The student must attend 75% of the course’s total hours and not less than 75% of the practical course's total hours.

The Whole Year Program's regulation includes the following departments:

  2. Oral Disease Science
  3. Dental Biomaterial
  4. Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology
  5. Conservative Dentistry 
  6. Prosthetic Dentistry 
  7. Endodontics 
  8. Fixed Prosthodontics 
  9. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery 
  10. Orthodontics 
  11. Pediatric, Preventive Dentistry, and Dental Public Health 
  12. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery 

The Faculty of Dentistry Medicine – Suez Canal University curriculum extends to 5 academic years in addition to the obligatory internship year. By the end of each program, the student gains knowledge, concepts, ethics, and basic skills to practice Dentistry Medicine Successfully. 
Each academic year consists of 36 weeks starting from September till June. The 36 weeks include 2 mid–year off weeks. The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research determines the off weeks, education, training, and exam periods.
